Bank Holiday - Our Favourite Parks

With the bank holiday about to start and a touch of sunny weather forecast (hurray!), we’ll definitely be heading to some of London’s parks. So get your barbecues, frisbees and picnics ready while we tell you our favourite London parks to hit this long weekend.

Hyde Park (Central London)
Appropriated in 1536, Hyde Park houses London’s oldest boating lake, The Serpentine. Home to ducks, swans and tufty-headed grebes, it’s sure to be a family favourite. If you decide to explore this park by foot, be sure to look out for the Liberty Drives. Driven by volunteers, these electric buggies can pick you up and take you around the park! And don’t forget whilst the weather’s warm to check out the Joy of Life Fountain – one of our favourite ways to cool down!

Richmond Park (West London)
Being the largest of all the Royal Parks in London, Richmond Park occupies a whopping 2500 acres! A sight that just has to be seen is the several fallow deer roaming free around it. Make sure you take your camera or have your phone handy to snap a photo of them in all their glory. Once you've taken a peak at the deer, be sure to walk up to the parks highest point where you’ll find unobstructed views of St Paul's Cathedral, over 12 miles in the distance. Yet another photo op!

Victoria Park (East London)
This park is much-loved regardless of age. The Pavilion Café serves breakfast with locally sourced ingredients and dinner perfect for your lazy evening, while the V&A playground is equipped with swings, pools and much more to encourage creative play for your little ones. This is our favourite to kick back in and let nature revitalise us.

Greenwich Park (South London)
Being the oldest enclosed Royal Park, Greenwich Park provides an urban sanctuary for deer, foxes and over 70 species of bird! One of the largest spaces in east London, this park includes a child-friendly boating lake, six, yes we said SIX tennis courts and the National Maritime Museum just on the perimeter. Whilst trying to spot Andy Murray, pop over to the Royal Observatory for views across to Canary Wharf and beyond. The views are pretty special and well worth the walk up the hill.
